New Spark AR Studio Integrations Arrive in Blender

Creators can now build 3D assets and AR experiences more efficiently

Creators typically have multiple tools they lean on and love, and AR creators are no different. In fact, if you ask most Spark AR creators what’s on their short list of trusted tools, one product nearly always shows up — Blender. The free, open-source 3D software was downloaded over 10 million times last year, and is used for a range of AR creation needs, from modeling and rendering objects to adding animations and visual effects.

That’s why we’re thrilled to share two new integrations available today that help improve creator workflows between Spark AR Studio version 92 and Blender 2.83+

  • 1) Spark AR Toolkit - A Blender add-on to help creators optimize 3D objects to export to Spark AR Studio using the popular gITF open format.
  • 2) Blender Environment Textures - A collection of lighting textures available in AR Library that help creators retain the visual fidelity and quality of Blender image-based lighting across both applications

We’re constantly digging into creator workflows and trying to find new efficiencies. We hope creators using the powerful combination of Blender and Spark AR Studio to build 3D assets and AR experiences, will find these latest features helpful.
