Learning AR: Creating World Effects in Spark AR Studio

Some of the best AR effects are those that give you an enhanced view of familiar places or ordinary objects, offering a snapshot into an alternative world. One of the ways Spark AR creators typically evoke this sense of surprise and immersion, is with world effects.

A world effect is any effect that alters someone’s environment. There are a few different ways to augment someone’s world, from making objects and effects appear on surfaces to placing them in fixed positions in the environment. They’ll behave and sometimes even look like real life objects, except you can only see them through the camera on your smartphone. It’s this anchoring of world effects to spaces and places that encourages the user to move their device, exploring the augmented world around them.
