One of the great things about being a Spark AR creator is the range of what you can make. From subtle make-up effects, to immersive interactive games — the limit of what you can do is increasingly your own imagination.
But what if you want to create an effect with hundreds or thousands of objects in it? For example, a swarm of fireflies or butterflies that take over someone’s background, or playful confetti or glitter clouds that burst everytime someone smiles. The time and energy to animate each of these objects would be significant, but in Spark AR Studio this is fairly easy to create with particle systems.
Particle systems allow you to create large numbers of objects, or particles, which you adjust to your liking for quantity, direction, size, and more. Particles can be used to create naturalistic effects like rain and smoke, immersive effects like floating bubbles, and more abstract effects like a fountain of stars. Here’s an example:
Creating an effect with particles is as simple as adding a particle system, applying materials and textures, and then editing the particle system until you have it just right. Effects with particles are fun to create and have near limitless potential for the variation of experiences they can produce.
