Updating Effects

After you've submitted your effect, you can still make changes to it in Spark AR Hub. You can update published effects or effects you need to fix in order to get them accepted.

Note that any updates you make to your published effect will need to be reviewed by our review team again. This can take up to 5 days. The currently-published version of the effect will remain live while we review your updates.

How to update your effect

To update your effect, in Spark AR Hub:

  1. Click Effects in the sidebar.
  2. Click on the name of the effect you want to change.
  3. Click Update in the top-right corner.
  4. Make your updates. When you’re ready to submit your changes, click Submit in the top-right corner.

You can update:

  • The effect name.
  • The effect file.
  • The platform.
  • The categories and keywords.
  • The demo video.
  • The icon.

You can't update the effect owner once you've published your effect.

Updating the platform

To enable one effect for both platforms toggle both Facebook and Instagram on in the Platform section in Spark AR Hub. Once your effect is published on both platforms you'll be able to see combined insights for your effect and further split by platform.

Updating the effect file

One reason to replace an effect file is to ensure that the effect is still deliverable if it was made in an older version of Spark AR studio. Learn how to update your effect in Spark AR Studio.

How to remove your effect

You can remove your published effects from all supported platforms. Removing an effect means your effect won’t be visible to anyone, and you won’t be able to recover it.

To remove an effect, in Spark AR Hub:

  1. Click Effects in the sidebar.
  2. Click on the name of the effect you want to remove.
  3. Click the three dot icon in the top-right corner.
  4. Select Remove Effect.
