Composition Patch

Use the Composition patch for functional composition. This is when you combine two functions (F and G) and output them in a single data stream as a new function (H).

The following patches can be used as functions F and G:

Example

The example below shows a gradient texture repeated across the X and Y axes:

We created this effect using the graph below:

To repeat the gradient, we combined the gradient texture asset (function F) with a Function patch that we manipulated using Math patches (function G). These functions are then outputted in a single data stream (function H) to the material.
